The measurement showed a decreasing tendency even after adapting to 20 °C for 30 minutes and more than 20 minutes measuring time (total more than 50 minutes). According to the study monitor the behavior of the test item within a determination of the water solubility indicated self-organization e.g. into micelles. The observed tendency of the measurement therefore could have been caused by a self-organization of the test item over the measurement time.

Due to the fact that the surface tension showed a time-dependence only a mean value for the measured values could be reported. The mean value of the measurement was 53.8 mN/m. However, due to the observed tendency and the suspected self-organization of the test item it cannot be excluded that this value would decrease further over time.

Conclusion: The surface tension of the aqueous solution was lower than 60 mN/m, the test item had surface-active properties.
