Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
other: Test item could not be ignited with a flame, it melted. Performance of the main test was not needed.

In the preliminary test the pile with test substance could not be ignited after contact with flame for 2 minutes. The test item melted. The main test does not need to be conducted.

The test item is to be considered as not highly flammable.

Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance undergoes exothermic decomposition at a temperature below or equal to 140°C

Description of key information

Substance is not a highly flammable solid (EU Method A.10., Burning rate preliminary test).

No pyrophoricity.

No flammability on contact with water.

Not self-heating (OECD 102, DSC).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The flammability of the substance was determined according to EU Method A.10. Based on the chemical structure and experience in handling and use, pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are not expected. The substance is not self-heating based on strucutre and due to decomposition temperatures of 123 °C (dehydration) of the hydrate and 238 °C from DSC measurement.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available data on flammability of the test substance do not meet the criteria for classification according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 or Directive 67/548/EEC, and are therefore conclusive but not sufficient for classification: No propagation of burning in a test according to EU Method A.10. Based on the chemical structure and experience in handling and use, pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are not expected.

DSC results exclude self-heating of the substance.
