Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Validity criteria for the measurement of the particion coefficient:

Target condition according to guideline A.8:Actual condition according to the study:Validity criteria met:
For the measurement, substance-specific methods are preferred. Analytical methods which may be appropriate are: photometry, gas chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography.HPLC was used as analytical method.Yes
The temperature, the amount of test substance introduced in the test vessels, the volume of each phase in each vessel and the calculated total amount of test substance based on the analytical data shall be stated. Not all data given in report.Yes, with restrictions
The pH of the water used and of the aqueous phase during the experiment shall be stated.Bidistilled water is used, so a pH of 7 is assumed.Yes

Conclusions:
The n-octanol/water partition coefficient (logPow) is 2.3 (95 % confidence limits 2.0-2.5) measured at 25 °C and pH 7.
Executive summary:

The n-octanol/water partition coefficient (logPow) was determined with the HPLC-method according to OECD guideline 117 to be 2.3 (95 % confidence limits 2.0-2.5) measured at 25 °C and pH 7. This method is based on the correlation of the reversed phase retention data of the test compound with those of the reference compounds with known log Pow values. The substance can be considered as a neutral molecule in the pH range of physiological interest. Therefore, no pH dependence of log Pow has to be taken into account.

Description of key information
