Test procedure:
burning time (test type not further specified)
Burning time:
< 10 s
Moisture (wt %):
0.06
Remarks on result:
other: Flame did not propagate along 200mm of the powder train within four minutes. It extinguished within 10 seconds after removal of the source of ignition.
Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The substance should not be considered highly flammable. No further testing is required.
Executive summary:

Glutaric acid was tested for flammability using the test procedure described in EU Method A.10. The sample moisture content was 0.06% (WTM 015). On applying a hot flame to the end of the powder train as per the test method, the sample melted and ignited, however the flame did not propagate 200m of the powder train and extinguished within 10 seconds. As a result, the substance is not considered highly flammable, and no further testing is required.

Description of key information

Glutaric acid was tested for flammability using the test procedure described in EU Method A.10. It was determined that the substance should not be considered highly flammable, and that no further testing is required.

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

On applying a hot flame to the end of the powder train the sample melted and ignited, however the flame did not propagate 200mm of the powder train and extinguished within 10 seconds.
