Considering the available studies, the fate of the test substance in the environment will be predominantly rapid biodegradation. Biodegradation studies demonstrated that the test substance is readily biodegradable within the 10-day window and a biodegradation rate of 86% in 28 days has been reached. As the test substance is classified to be readily biodegradable further simulation tests on biodegradability has not been performed. Further information on hydrolysis is not available and a study has not been conducted due to the low water solubility of the test substance.

Adsorption of the test substance to soil or sediment can be expected, because the adsorption coefficient (logKoc) has been determined to be 6.5 for soil and 6.7 for sewage sludge. However, a prediction of the distribution of the test substance in the environment by the Mackay Level III equilibrium model calculates distribution mainly to the soil or water compartment. Partitioning into the air or sediment compartment is expected to be low. The potential for bioaccumulation is expected to be low, as the bioavailability of the test substance is minimal and transformation of the test substance in fish is likely, as the test substance contains ester groups.
