Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
Short-term toxicity to fish
The acute toxicity of the test substance to fish was tested in a 96 hours study according to the EPA OPP 72-1 guideline. The calculated LC50 was 775 µg/L. The NOEC was found to be 607 µg/L.
Long-term toxicity to fish
The long-term toxicity to fish of the read across substance didecyldimethylammonium chloride (CAS 7173 -51 -5) was determined in the OECD guideline 210 and GLP study. The NOEC was determined to be 32 µg/L. .
Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
The short-term toxicity of the test item to aquatic invertebrates was determined in a EPA OPP 72-2 guideline and GLP study. The LC50 was determined to be 92 µg/L.
Long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
The long term aquatic toxicity to Daphnia magna of the read across substance didecyldimethylammonium chloride (CAS 7173 -51 -5) was determined in this OECD guideline 211 and GLP study. The measured NOEC value was determined to be 0.01 mg/L.
Toxicity to aquatic algae
The toxicity to aquatic algae was tested in a GLP and guideline read-across study with didecyldimethylammonium chloride (CAS 7173 -51 -5). The EC50 (growth rate) was determined to be 0.021 mg/L and NOEC (growth rate) was determined to be 0.011 mg/L (both values are mean measured values).
Toxicity to microorganisms
The toxicity to microorganisms was determined in an OECD guideline study. The EC50 was determined to be 12.2 mg/L and the EC10 was determined to be 3 mg/L.
