Additional information

Breakdown of the analogue test substance by intestinal (cecal) bacteria from rat was shown (Huntington Research Centre, 1987). The analogue test substance was metabolised (approx. 20% after 24 h) by intestinal bacteria from rat caecum. Rat caecal bacteria degrade the analogue test substance presumably via an azo-reduction. The main metabolite that was detected after 24h incubation of the analogue test substance with rat cecal extract was an aromatic amine, 1,6 -Cleve's acid.
