Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

From the calculations it can be expected, that the read across substance quinine is not readily biodegradable. Thus totaquina which constist of 75 % quinine is also not readily biodegradable

Key value for chemical safety assessment

at the temperature of:
25 °C
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The given biodegradability is calculated from BIOWIN 4.10 using the models BioWin3 and BioWin5. From these models it is shown, that the read across substance quinine is not readily biodegradable. Thus totaquina, which constist of 75 % quinine, is also not readily biodegradable. Nevertheless, the EPA recommends that EPI Suite is a screening-level tool and should not be used if acceptable measured values are available. However, empirical studies have not been done, so that we have to consider, that the substance is not readily biodegradable.
