Administrative data
First-aid measures
If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If breathing becomes difficult,
call a physician.
In case of skin contact, immediately wash skin with soap and large
amounts of water.
In case of contact with eyes, flush with large amounts of
water for at least 15 minutes. Assure adequate flushing by
separating the eyelids with fingers. Remove contact lenses. Call a physician.
If swallowed, wash out mouth with water provided person is
conscious. Call a physician.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media: Dry chemical, carbon dioxide, water spray or foam.
Procedures: If required, keep fire-exposed containers cool with water spray. Fight fire from maximum possible distance. Avoid heavy hose streams. In case of large fire, firemen should wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing.
Hazardous products in a fire: The essential breakdown products are nitrogen oxides, hydrogenchloride, hydrogenfluoride, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
Accidental release measures
Personal protection: Observe all protection and safety precautions when cleaning up spills.
Steps to be taken in case of spill: Spills on the floor or other impervious surface should be swept up with an absorptive material such as universal binder, Fuller’s earth or other absorbent clays. Collect the contaminated absorbent in a suitable, closable container for disposal.
Handling and storage
Avoid any direct contact with the product.
Directions for Safe Handling: Do not breathe vapor. Avoid
contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Avoid prolonged or
repeated exposure.

Exposure controls / personal protection
When used in a closed system, personal protection equipment will not be required. The following is meant for other situations, when the use of a closed system is not possible, or when it is necessary to open the system, for example in the case of an accident. Consider the need to render equipment or piping systems non-hazardous before opening.
In case of insufficient ventilation, workers should put on officially approved respiratory protection equipment with a combination filter type against acids and including particle filter.
Wear chemical resistant gloves, such as barrier laminate, butyl rubber or nitrile rubber. The breakthrough times of these materials for this product are unknown. Generally, however, the use of protective gloves will give only partial protection against dermal exposure. Small tears in the gloves and cross-contamination can easily occur. It is recommended to shift the gloves frequently and to limit the work to be done manually.
Wear face mask rather than safety glasses or goggles. It is recommended to have an eye wash fountain immediately available in the workplace when there is a potential for eye contact.
Wear appropriate chemical resistant clothing to prevent skin contact. Safety showers should be readily available in all areas where the product is handled or stored.
Stability and reactivity
Stable under normal conditions of use.
