Ready biodegradability tests are available for several alkyl sulfates. Based on the results of screening tests for biodegradation in water it can be concluded that alkyl sulfates with carbon chain length of C8-C18 are readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria (OECD SIDS 2007).
Four GLP compliant studies performed according to guidelines: OECD 301 B (Brunswik-Titze 2003), OECD 301 E (Schöberl 1992), ISO 14593 (Daniel 2006), and EU Method C.4-4 (Diefenbach 1995) proving ready biodegradation of C8-isoAS Na (CAS 126-92-1) are available.
