Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One experimental study investigating the toxicity of Reaction mixture of Glycerol 1,3- di(acetate), glycerol acetate and triacetin to marine algae is available (Manley, 2002). The study was conducted according to ISO 10253:2006(E) under GLP conditions using the marine algae Skeletonema costatum. Five concentrations up to a maximum of 1000 mg/L (nominal) were tested in a static exposure regime. The lowest concentration of 100 mg/L did not result in any effects on the growth rate whereas inhibitory effects were observed at higher concentrations after 72 h. Thus, a NOEC of 100 mg/L and an EC50 of 632.5 mg/L were derived.
