First-aid measures
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Never give anything by
mouth to an unconscious person. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
EYE CONTACT:
Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. If eye irritation persists, consult a
specialist.
SKIN CONTACT:
Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Consult a
physician if necessary.
INHALATION:
Move to fresh air. Artificial respiration and/or oxygen may be necessary. Keep warm and in a quiet place. Consult a physician.
INGESTION:
Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth. Call a physician immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:
Water spray; Foam; Carbon dioxide (CO2).
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA WHICH MUST NOT BE USED FOR SAFETY REASONS:
Strong water jets may spread combustible liquids.
SPECIAL EXPOSURE HAZARDS:
In the event of fire the following can be released: Carbon Oxides and Oxides of Molybdenum such as Molybdenum Trioxide.
SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR FIREFIGHTERS:
Wear appropriate self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suits.

Accidental release measures
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS:
Remove all sources of ignition. Wear personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS:
Prevent product from entering drains. Do not allow material to contaminate the ground or surface water systems.
METHODS FOR CLEANING UP:
Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Soak up with inert absorbent material. Shovel into suitable container for disposal. Clean contaminated surface thoroughly.
Handling and storage
SAFE HANDLING ADVICE:
Keep container tightly closed. Do not breathe vapours. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Use only in well-ventilated areas.
TECHNICAL MEASURES/STORAGE CONDITIONS:
Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Keep away from sources of heat and ignition. Use secondary containment means where surface water or ground contact is possible.
INCOMPATIBLE PRODUCTS:
Compounds in the HHO-EB-101 family, Carboxylate Salts, are used as catalysts for Oxidation, Hydrogenation and Polymerization. Avoid uncontrolled contact with compounds that could polymerize or are oxidizing agents or conditions that could initiate hydrogenation reactions. Prudent precautions for organic compounds include eliminating uncontrolled contact with other reactive chemicals such as, chlorinators, reducing agents, amines, ammonia and strong acids and alkalis.

Exposure controls / personal protection
APPROPRIATE ENGINEERING CONTROLS
Use of HCAT should be conducted outdoors, utilising ISO tanks that comply with UN and DOT standards and high integrity stainless steel hosing.
Do not breathe vapours and avoid all contact with skin and eyes.
The use of personal protection equipment and good hygiene practices detailed herein when exposure may arise controls risks associated with such exposure.
EYE/FACE PROTECTION
Wear a face shield with chemical splash goggles unless wearing full-face respiratory equipment. The applicable European Standard can be found in EN 166.
SKIN PROTECTION
When handling this product, the use of a chemical resistant suit and rubber boots is required. The applicable European Standard can be found in EN 166.
HAND PROTECTION
When handling this product, the use of chemical gauntlets that provide protection from oils, grease and petroleum products is required. The choice of work glove depends on the work conditions and what chemicals are handled, but we have positive experience under light handling conditions using gloves made from PVC. Gloves should be replaced immediately if signs of degradation are observed.
Recommended gloves for handling during use of HCAT are Arco 35cm PVC Red Gauntlets (1351600) - CE approved to Class BS EN 374:1994, BS EN 388:1994. Breakthrough time for these gloves of >30 minutes is quoted by the manufacturer based on the permeation test.
The applicable European Standard can be found in EN 374.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION
Where concentrations may exceed the occupational exposure limit values/derived no-effect levels quoted, the use of a half face filter mask or air supplied breathing apparatus is recommended. A suitable filter material depends on the amount and type of chemicals being handled. Consider the use of filter type: A-B-E-K. The applicable European Standard can be found in EN 140, EN 137, EN 143, and EN 14387. In event of emergency or planned entry into unknown concentrations a positive pressure, full-facepiece SCBA should be used. If respiratory protection is required, institute a complete respiratory protection program including selection, fit testing, training, maintenance and inspection.
THERMAL HAZARD
No known thermal hazards.
ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE CONTROLS
Should not be released into the environment. Use secondary containment when the material could reach the ground or surface waters. Disposal should be conducted in accordance with local, national and international regulations.

Stability and reactivity
CHEMICAL STABILITY
The product is stable under normal ambient temperatures. Stabilisers are not normally required. No hazardous reactions when handled and stored according to provisions. Not water reactive.
POSSIBILITY OF HAZARDOUS REACTIONS
Exothermic reactions are not expected under normal handling conditions.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID
Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.
INCOMPATIBLE MATERIALS
Compounds in the HHO-EB-101 family, Carboxylate Salts, are used as catalysts for Oxidation, Hydrogenation and Polymerization. HHO-EB-101 may act as a catalyst for these reactions. Avoid uncontrolled contact with compounds that could Polymerize or conditions that could initiate Oxidation or Hydrogenation reactions. Prudent precautions for organic compounds include eliminating uncontrolled contact with other reactive chemicals such as, Chlorinators, Reducing Agents, Amines, Ammonia and strong Acids and Alkalines.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCT
In the event of fire or excessive heating the following can be released: Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide and oxides of Molybdenum such as Molybdenum Trioxide. See Section 8 for recommended Molybdenum exposure limits.
Disposal considerations
HAZARDOUS WASTE LISTINGS:
The product may be classified an Irritant (Property H4) to the skin, Harmful (Property H5) and Mutagenic (H11) when inhaled per Council Directive 91/689/EEC Annex I through III.
RECOMMENDED EWC WASTE CODES:
For excess uncontaminated HHO-EB-101, waste code “07 01 99, Wastes From Organic Chemical Processes, Wastes Not Otherwise Specified” in the European Waste Catalogue (2000/532/EC) may be appropriate. Waste codes for contaminated HHO-EB-101, or for materials containing HHO-EB-101, must be determined based on the process generating the waste and the composite materials characteristics.
The Molybdenum content of HHO-EB-101 is not listed as Hazardous in the European Waste Catalogue.
WASTE FROM RESIDUES/UNUSED PRODUCTS:
Dispose of in accordance with National and Regional regulations.
CONTAMINATED PACKAGING:
Contaminated packaging should be emptied as far as possible. Empty containers should be taken for recycling, recovery or waste disposal in accordance with National and Regional regulations .
