Description of key information

Short term toxicity to fish:

Study was conducted to access the toxic effect of test chemical to fish Poecilia reticulata. Test was conducted according to OECD Guideline 203 (Fish, Acute Toxicity Test). Test was conducted in the static method, in which test chemical is not renewed, and experiment was run till 96 hours.

Limit test was performed, 100 mg/ L of test chemical was exposed to the test organisms and observed for any mortality for the period of 96 hours. Based on the data obtained from the experiment there was no mortality in treated group, median lethal concentration of test chemical was determined to be >100 mg/L. According to CLP classification, the test chemical cannot be classified.

 

Long term toxicity to fish:

Based on the EPI Suite ECOSAR version 1.11 predicted model, In 28 days long term fish toxicity i.e NOEC value was estimated to be 13671.586 mg/l on fish for test substance on the basis of mortality effects. based on the above results, chemical consider to be nontoxic and not classified as per the CLP classification criteria.

Short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

Daphnia sp., Acute Immobilization Test was performed according to OECD Guideline 203. The test solution was prepared by dissolving 20 mg of the test substance in 20 ml of ADaM’s media.

The nominal concentration selected for the experiment was 100 mg/L and test Daphnia magna were exposed to these concentration for 48 hours. The median Effective concentration (EC50) for test chemiccal to Daphnia magna in a 48 hours study on the basis of immobilization effect was found to be >100 mg/L.

Thus, on the basis of this EC50 value and according to CLP criteria for aquatic classification of the substance, it is concluded that the substance does not exhibit short term toxicity to Daphnia.

Long Term Toxicity to Aquatic invertebrates:

Based on the EPI Suite ECOSAR version 1.10 predicted model, In 21 days long term aquatic invertebrates toxicity i.e NOEC value was estimated to be 17475.27 mg/l to Daphnid on the basis of reproductive effects.This estimated NOEC value indicate that test substance is non toxic to Daphnia magna.

Toxicity to Aquatic algae and cyanobacteria:

The short-term toxicity of the test substance to green algae is studied using the RA, This study outlines the effect of test chemical on the Scenedesmus subspicatus. The study was performed on the in accordance with OECD guideline 201. The test was performed for the period 96 hours to observe the effects. Based on the results obtained the EC50 value was determined to >100 mg/L. According to CLP classification the test chemical cannot be classified

Toxicity to microorganisms:

The study outlines the effects of test chemical on the test species chilomonas paramecium. the test was performed for the period of 48 hours in the static exposure conditions. Based on the outcome the median lethal concentration of test chemical was 2774mg/L.

Above study was supported by the second study. The long term effect of the test chemical was studied on guppy fish. The study was conducted was for the period of seven days in a semi static conditions. The median lethal concentration of the test chemical was determined as 1150 mg/L. Based on the CLP classification the test chemical cannot be classified.

Thus based on the above results, chemical consider to be nontoxic and not classified as per the CLP classification criteria.

Based on the results obtained the 8d- EC50 value was determined to 1000mg/l. According to the CLP classification the test chemical is not classified.

Thus the toxicity is ranging from 100 to 1000mg/L.

Toxicity to microorganisms:

The weight of evidence was prepared by taking the read across of structurally and functionally similar structure.

The data was published in the peer reviewed journal.

The study outlines the effects of test chemical on the test species chilomonas paramecium. The test was performed for the period of 48 hours in the static exposure conditions. Based on the outcome the median lethal concentration of test chemical was 2774mg/L.

Similar study outlines the effects of test chemical on the test species Pseudomonas putida. The basis of effect was their cell multiplication for the period 16.0 h and threshold toxicity was determined to be 255 mg/L.

Thus based on the outcomes the test chemical is toxicity ranges between 255- 2774 mg/L to various microorganisms.

Hence on the basis of all above data, chemical consider to be nontoxic and not classified as per the CLP classification criteria.
