Disperse Red 302:1

The test sample Disperse Red 302:1 is a red colored powder, solid at room temperature. The substance melt at about 173 °C, and underwent thermic decomposition at about 313 °C. The substance underwent thermic decomposition at about 313 °C, hence no boiling point for the substance can be determined following OECD Guideline 103. The density of the substance was evaluated in a study conducted according to OECD Guideline 109 using pycnometer method. Based on the findings of the study, the average density was determined to be 1.7795 g/cm³. According to Annex VII REACH Regulation Granulometry will be waived because the substance is marketed and used in a non-solid or granular form only. The vapour pressure of FAT 93504/B was determined following isothermal thermogravimetric effusion. The vapour pressure of the test item at 20 °C (293K) was: 4.65 × 10E-11 Pa (mean of three determinations). The partition coefficient n-octanol/water of the test item at 20 °C, from the individual solubility in water and n-octanol, was determined to: log Pow = 5.16. The water solubility cs of the test item at a temperature of 20 °C was determined following OECD guideline 105 and found to be (without correction for the purity): cs = 3.7 μg/l. The determination of the surface tension of FAT 93504/B was based on OECD Guideline No. 115 and could not be determined as the substance is insoluble in water (water solubility 3.7 μg/l) at room temperature ca. 20 °C. Flash point testing is waived since the test substance is solid at room temperature, according to Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment (Chap R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance), the flash point is only a relevant property for liquids, thus it does not need to be done for substances that are solids or gases at room temperature. The determination of the auto-ignition temperature of the test item was performed in accordance with the EEC Directive Annex V of 67/548 Test A 15 Auto-ignition temperature for liquids. The auto-ignition temperature of the test item is >550 °C. The test item FAT 93504/B should be considered as not highly flammable as no ignition was observed throughout the course of the test. The substance is considered to be non-explosive according to Directive 67/548/EEC and Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and no further testing is required. As there are no chemical groups present in the molecule (of FAT 93504/B) associated with oxidising properties, the study for evaluation of oxidising properties is considered scientifically not necessary.
