Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In a reliable reliable acute toxicity study of the read across substance ENB in fish, the 96-hr LC50for Zebra fish (Brachydanio rerio) was 7.6 mg/L and the 96-hr NOEC was 5.02 mg/L. US EPA ECOSAR software (v1.00a) estimates the 96 -hr fish LC50 for VNB substance to be 3.46mg/l and the surrogate read across substance ENB to 3.12 mg/L, based on structure activity relationship models for neutral organic compounds. Since the QSAR predicts the toxicity of ENB and VNB to be similar with the former the marginally more toxic, it seems both reasonable and conservative to select the key parameter from the measured data using the read across substance ENB.
