Based on thioglycolic acid Log Kow value obtained in the frame of an OECD 107 test, it can be concluded that thioglycolic acid bioaccumulation potential is negligible. Thioglycolic acid would be expected to exist in its ionized form under most environmental conditions, and it is reasonable to expect that the acid and its salt will behave similarly in the environment. Therefore bioaccumulation potential for salts is also expected to be negligible.
