Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Inhalation: Supply fresh air. If required provide artificial respiration. Keep patient awake. Contact physician.

Skin contact: Instantly wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. Seek medical advice in the event of irritant effects.

Eye contact: Flush eyes with clean water, if symptoms persists contact a physician.

Ingestion: If swallowed seek emergency medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Proper Extinguishing Media: All extinguishing substances suitable. Use extinguishing media suitable for type of surrounding fire.

Specific hazards: No specific fire or explosion hazards are expected. In case of fire, carbon monoxide (CO) can be released.

Special fire-fighting procedures: For fires beyond the incipient stage, emergency responders in the immediate hazard area should wear bunker gear. When the potential chemical hazard is unknown, in enclosed or confined spaces, or when explicitly required by NIOSH/MSHA approved self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn. In addition, wear other appropriate protective equipment as conditions warrant. Isolate immediate hazard area and keep unauthorized personnel out. Contain spill if it can be done with minimal risk. Move undamaged containers from immediate hazard area if it can be done with minimal risk. Cool equipment exposed to fire with water, if it can be done with minimal risk.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Use adequate ventilation. Use protective gloves. Use chemical safety goggles. In case of powder spill, wear filter mask or respirator.

Specific precautions: No specific precautions are required.

Environmental precautions: Handle with care to prevent getting into the environment.

Methods of cleaning up: Shovel up dry chemical into empty container with a cover. Avoid formation of dust.

Handling and storage

Handling: The use of respiratory protection is advised when concentrations exceed any established exposure limits. Wash thoroughly after handling. Do not wear contaminated clothing or shoes. Use good personal hygiene practice.

Storage: Keep containers tightly closed. Use and store this material in cool, dry, well - ventilated areas. Store only in approved containers. Protect containers against physical damage.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Threshold limit value: Total dust:  10 mg/m3

Technical measures: Local or general exhaust ventilation to keep concentration in air below the TLV.

Personal protective equipment:

Respiratory: Approved respirators should be used when exposure exceeds TLV. Recommended filter device for short term use: Filter P1; Filter FFP1.

Skin: Butyl rubber or leather gloves. Penetration time of glove material: Value for permeation: Level ≥ 120 min (EN 374). Protective work clothing should be worn. If dust is present in a work area, clean work clothes daily.

Eyes: Protective goggles or protective screen in case of dust formation.

Personal hygiene: Follow personal hygiene rules: wash hands after working with the substance and before eating, smoking and using a toilet. Shower after working with the substance.

Stability and reactivity

Stability: Stable

Hazardous decomposition products: Stable under normal conditions of storage and handling.

Hazardous polymerization: None

Materials to avoid: None known. Reacts with strong acids.

Disposal considerations
