Additional information

In a 96 h acute toxicity key study (BASF SE, 85/111, 1986), Salmo gairdneri were exposed to the test item according to OECD guideline 203. The test item (CAS 71598 -17 -9) was applied in a mixture consisting of 24 % active substance and 20 % acetic acid at nominal concentrations of 3.2, 6.3, 12.5, 25.0, 50.0 and 100 mg/L. No analytical monitoring was done in this test. The concentration levels were determined in a pretest with concentration levels of 10, 100 and 500 mg/L.

The 96 h LC50 value was determined to be ca. 22 mg/L. The NOEC value, based on mortality effects was 12.5 mg/L. Apathy and tumbling symptoms were observed during the study.

In a 96 h acute toxicity supporting study (BASF SE, 10F0453/885259,1989), Leuciscus idus were exposed to the test item (CAS 71598 -17 -9) according to DIN 38 412. The test item was applied in a mixture of unknown composition at nominal concentration levels of 10, 21.5, 46.4 and 100 mg/L. No analytical monitoring was done in this test. The concentration levels were determined in a pretest with concentration levels of 10, 100 and 1000 mg/L.

The 96 h LC50 value was determined to be between 10 and 22 mg/L. The NOEC value, based on mortality effects was about 10 mg/L, respectively.
