Based on the result of the screening test for biodegradation in water, Atmer 163 (CAS No. 97925-95-6) is not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria. The test substance was degraded to 37% after 28 days. Additional (Q)SAR calculations show that the substance is not persistent in the environment and the biodegradation takes place in a time frame of weeks. It can be concluded that Atmer 163 is moderately biodegradable. Considering, that no hazard in the environment is expected based on the outcome of the exposure assessment (all RCR < 1), further simulation tests are not needed to investigate the degradation of Atmer 163 (according to Section 3.1, Annex XI of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006).
