Description of key information

It is not expected that the xanthates to bio-accumulate in the food chain because of much lower values of BCF and BAF than REACH and US EPA criteria.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Bioaccumulation of xanthates in most organisms is limited by the metabolism and rapid excretion of carbon disulfide. Bioaccumulation in the food chain is predicted to be low(Office of Pollution and Toxics, U.S. EPA , August 1994, EPA 749-F-94-008a)
