According to the information of an independent source (Merck index) it can be concluded that diphenyl sulphone are white monoclinic prisms or leaflets, that the melting point is 128°C and that the boiling point is 378°C.A Particle Size Analysis  is executed .It was concluded that the majority (82.6 %) of the test item particles were foud to be in the size of >500 µm. To investigate  the vapour  pressure two different gas saturation  methods (common and automated) were applied, the obtained results are at 323.85 K (50°C) 0.00075 Pa and at 392.25 K (120°C) 9.3649 Pa. Based on the results obtained with the used methods and Antoine parameters, the calculated vapour pressure (Antoine) at 253.15K(–20 °C) is1.273 × 10-7Pa. The calculated log P of 2.61 (KOWWIN v 1.68) is supported by an estimated log P of 2.40 published by Hansch et al. (1995). Measured solubility of 2 samples were 14.7 mg/L and 14.4 mg/L respectively at 20 +/- 0.5°C. The solubility study was performed according to standard guidelines. The shake flask method was used. The study of surface tension is not needed since the substance doesn't meet the requirements stated in column 2 of REACH Annex VII section 7.6. Diphenyl sulphone has no flash point up to 200°C . Based on the study executed by Chilworth Technology in 1997, it can be concluded that for diphenyl sulphone no auto ignition up to temperature of 475°C is seen, so this compound is very stable and resistant to auto flammability. Testing of flammability  showed  that DPS is considered to be non-flammable under  the conditions of the test. Determining the explosiveness of diphenyl sulphone is not necessary because there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule, according to Column 2 of REACH Annex VII section 7.11. The study of oxidising properties can be waived because the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials, on the basis of the chemical structure; according to Column 2 of REACH Annex VII section 7.13. The study of stability in organic solvents is only required if stability of the substance is considered to be critical; according to Column 1 of REACH Annex IX section 7.15. The study of dissociation constant does not need to be conducted on the basis that the chemical structure does not contain chemical groups associated with dissociation; according to Column 2 of REACH Annex IX section 7.16. The study of viscosity does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid, according to REACH Endpoint Specific Guidance section 7.1.18.
