Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Bioaccumulation: low potential to bioaccumulate based on calculated BCF of 87 l/kg-ww

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
87 L/kg ww

Additional information

A reasonable estimate of bioconcentration factor (BCF) can be obtained by estimation from log Kow using the method in the Technical Guidance Document on Risk Assessment (EC 2003, Part III. Chapter 4, Section 4.5.2.1, Page 37 - 38) using the equation log BCF = 0.85log Kow - 0.7. The estimated value is BCF = 87 l/kg-ww (log BCF = 1.94) for the registered substance.

Triethoxy(3-thiocyanatopropyl)silane, CAS 34708-08-2; EC No. 252-161-3 hydrolyses moderately rapidly (half-life of 23 hours at 25°C and pH 7) to substances which have low log Kow values (< 3) and thus have low potential for bioaccumulation.
