The substance, triethoxy(3-thiocyanatopropyl)silane, CAS 34708-08-2; EC No. 252-161-3:

•       Is not flammable (based on a measured flash point of 105°C at 1013 hPa and boiling point 300°C)

•       In contact with water does not emits a flammable gas.

•       Is not pyrophoric.

The flammability study is not required for liquids as flammability is assessed on the basis of flash point.

There is no indication on the basis of structure and experience in handling and use that the substance is pyrophoric (flammable in contact with air) or flammable in contact with water.

Therefore, in accordance with Section 1 of REACH Annex XI, there is no need to conduct further flammability testing.

The substance is not classified for this hazard on the basis of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.

Flammability in contact with water:

The substance is not classified for flammability in contact with water on the basis of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
