Description of key information
In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the test cannot be performed, as the substance decomposes in water within a hour (half-time approx. 1 hour). The calculated partition coefficient (KOWWIN v 1.66) on the basis of the structural formula of 1,5 -naphthylene diisocyante is 4.37 (Currenta, 2010). The measured log Pow of the corresponding amine is 0.91 (MITI, 1992).

The substance hydrolyses rapidly within 1 hour. Therefore, an experimental study with 1,5-naphthylene diisocyante is scientifically unjustified.
