Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

NOEC (28d) = 300 mg/kg soil dw for nitrogen transformation (OECD 216)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Long-term EC10 or NOEC for soil microorganisms:
300 mg/kg soil dw

Additional information

No studies are available for the toxicity of the reaction mass to soil microorganisms. Therefore, data for one of the four m-cresol components of the reaction mass, 4-chloro-m-cresol (CAS No. 59-50-7), are used as read across. The effect of the substance on soil microorganisms was investigated in one non-GLP study using loamy sand as test substrate. The inhibition of nitrification was tested according to OECD guideline 216. An EC50 (28d) of 555.1 mg/kg soil dw and a NOEC (28d) of 300 mg/kg soil dw are reported. After 100 days of incubation, the EC50 (100d) was determined to be 395.1 mg/kg soil dw.
