Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Eye Contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention immediately.

Skin Contact:Remove contaminated clothing and shoes without delay. Wear impermeable gloves. Wash immediately with plenty

of water. Pay particular attention to skin crevices, nail folds, etc. Do not reuse contaminated clothing without

laundering. Do not reuse contaminated leatherware. Obtain medical attention.

Ingestion: If swallowed, call a physician immediately. Only induce vomiting at the instruction of a physician. Never give

anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Apply artificial respiration if patient is not breathing. Obtain

medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable Extinguishing Media: Use water spray or fog, carbon dioxide or dry chemical.

Extinguishing Media to Avoid: full water jet.

Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire.

Firefighters, and others exposed, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear full firefighting protective clothing. See SDS section 8.

Accidental release measures

Where exposure level is not known, wear approved, positive pressure, self-contained respirator. Where exposure level is

known, wear approved respirator suitable for level of exposure. In addition to the protective clothing/equipment in Section

8 of the SDS, wear a two piece PVC suit with hood or PVC overalls with hood.

Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination.

Cover spills with some inert absorbent. Sweep up into containers for disposal. Flush spill area with water.

Handling and storage

Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Avoid breathing vapor. Use with adequate ventilation. Keep container closed. Wash thoroughly after handling.

Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation if necessary). During processing and handling of the product, comply with the indicative occupational exposure limit values.

Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated place and keep container tightly closed. Keep away from sources of ignition. Refrain from smoking. Take precautionary measures against electrostatic loading - earthing necessary during loading operations. Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection. Sensitive to frost.

Storage Temperature:  Store at  5 -  25 °C

Reason: Quality.

VCI Storage Class:  8 A

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering Measures:

Utilize a closed system process where feasible.  Where this material is not used in a closed system, good enclosure and local exhaust ventilation should be provided to control exposure.

Respiratory Protection:

For operations where inhalation exposure can occur, use an approved respirator recommended by an industrial hygienist after an evaluation of the operation. Where inhalation exposure can not occur, no respiratory protection is required.

A full facepiece respirator also provides eye and face protection.

Eye protection:

Wear eye/face protection such as chemical splash proof goggles or face shield. Eyewash equipment and safety shower should be provided in areas of potential exposure.

Skin Protection:

Avoid skin contact. Wear impermeable gloves and suitable protective clothing.

Hand protection:

Nitrile or fluorinated rubber gloves. Consider the porosity and elasticity data of the glove manufacturer and the specific conditons in the work place. Barrier creams may help to protect the exposed areas of the skin, they should however not be applied once exposure has occurred. Replace gloves immediately when torn or any change in appearance (dimension, colour, flexibility etc) is noticed.

Additional Advice:

Food, beverages, and tobacco products should not be carried, stored, or consumed where this material is in use.

Before eating, drinking, or smoking, wash face and hands thoroughly with soap and water.

Disposal considerations

This Registrant encourages the recycle, recovery and reuse of materials, where permitted. If disposal is necessary, This Registrant recommends that organic materials, especially when classified as hazardous waste, be disposed of by thermal treatment or incineration at approved facilities. All local and national regulations should be followed.
