Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 115 (Surface Tension of Aqueous Solutions)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.5 (Surface Tension)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
Hessisches Ministerium für Umwelt, Energie, Jugend, Familie und Gesundheit, Wiesbaden
Type of method:
ring method
Surface tension:
68.5 mN/m
Temp.:
20 °C
Conc.:
1 g/L

An aqueous solution at ambient temperature of the test substance with a concentration of 1.0 g/L was prepared. Six measurements at a temperature of 20 °C, every 5 min, were carried out:

The mean value, multiplied by the calibration factor F, yields WF = 68.71 mN/m.

The final value of 68.5 mN/m is obtained with respect to the Harkins-Jordan correction.

Description of key information
