Endpoint:
particle size distribution (granulometry)
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is marketed or used in a non solid or granular form
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
According to Column 2 of REACH Annex VII, section 7.14., the study to determine the granulometry of a substance does not need to be conducted if – among others – the substance is marketed or used in a granular form. The test item is an inorganic material that is manufactured from the underlying metal oxides by the Czochralski technique. The grown crystal (diameter: several centimeters) is then cut to smaller pieces in order to then be used for Scintillation applications. Based on the outlined particle size, conducting of the particle size distribution is considered as scientifically not necessary under REACH.
