First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move patient to fresh air. If necessary, seek medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate with water for 10-15 minutes. If irritation

develops, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Drink plenty of water to dilute the chemical. Do not induce

vomiting, seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide are suitable.

Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain carbon and nitrogen oxides

together with hydrogen chloride gas and some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Contain spills, collect substance and place in suitable

containers for disposal by incineration at a licensed

facility. Ventilate the area and wash spill site. Wear a

dust mask.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not normally possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance should not be routinely discharged directly to

the environment. Spillages of solutions mixed with inert

material (e.g. sand or soil) may be disposed of by landfill

or incineration in accordance with local regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance may be disposed of by incineration by burning

under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment

processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases

should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (e.g. oxides of

nitrogen and oxygen, plus chlorine and iron containing

compounds) could be formed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance will not normally be discharged directly to

the sewage system or the aqueous environment. Adverse

effects on sewage treatment systems are not anticipated.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.
