Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

* Barium Nitrate was dried on the 19/12/2017. A 2.2g sample of the Barium Nitrate was tested

for Moisture Content on 01/02/2018 using a HS153 Moisture Analyser. No mass loss was

observed after 2 minutes at 105°C therefore moisture content was determined as 0% (w/w).

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The test item was found to have no oxidising properties.
Executive summary:

Younis (2018) is a GLP compliant study following EU method A.17 (Oxidising properties (Solids)) and is considered to be reliable without restrictions (Klimisch 1). As the reaction for the test item / cellulose mixture was incomplete and significantly slower than the reference mixture it was clear that the sample is not an oxidising solid.

Description of key information

The test item was found to have no oxidising properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

Younis (2018) is a GLP compliant study following EU method A.17 (Oxidising properties (Solids)) and is considered to be reliable without restrictions (Klimisch 1). As the reaction for the test item / cellulose mixture was incomplete and significantly slower than the reference mixture it was clear that the sample is not an oxidising solid.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the results of a study following a standard test guideline the substance is not classified as an oxidising solid.
