Therefore, the hydrolysis products are considered to be relevant for classification. The hydrolysis products 2-methylbutan-2-ol (CAS No. 75-85-4) and potassium hydroxide (CAS No. 1310-58-3) are not classified as genotoxic according to the disseminated dossiers available on the homepage of ECHA and according to Annex VI of the CLP regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.

No data are available on the genetic toxicity of potassium 2-methylbutan-2-olate. As the test substance hydrolyses immediately in contact with water, the classification is also based on the hydrolysis products. 2-Methylbutan-2-ol (CAS No. 75-85-4) and potassium hydroxide (CAS No. 1310-58-3) are not classified as mutagenic according to the disseminated dossiers available on the homepage of ECHA and according to Annex VI of the CLP regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. Based on this, potassium 2-methylbutan-2-olate is also assumed as non-mutagenic and is not classified as mutagen according CLP regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
