Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Parent substance EC 401 -280 -0
No data on chronic toxicity of the substance EC 401-280-0 are available.
Hydrolysis products
Bis(2 -ethylhexyl)amine
The acute L(E)C50 values for fish and aquatic invertebrates of the most toxic degradation product to aquatic organisms (bis(2-ethylhexyl)amine were determined to be in the same magnitude. A long-term reproduction study with aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia magna) was performed (BASF SE, 2013; report no. 51E0454/11E137) with bis(2-ethylhexyl)amine. Based on the results from this study, the substance is classified as Chronic Category 1. A long-term toxicity study with fish is not available and will not provide any relevant additional information.
1H-1,2,4 -triazole
Supporting data on chronic toxicity of 1H-1,2,4-triazole to fish in a juvenile growth test according to OECD 215 show no effect on growth rate and mortality up to the highest test concentration of 100mg/L. A NOEC of > 100mg/L was determined (ECHA, disseminated REACH Dossier 2014).
formaldehyde
No data from guideline studies on chronic fish toxicity with formaldehyde is available.
As formaldehyde is readily biodegradable, data on chronic toxicity are not considered to be relevant to assess chronic toxicity of the substance EC 401-280- 0 and its hydrolysate.
