Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Bayscript Blaukomponente TEA is highly soluble in water (> 841.7 g/L). The following results provide read-across data from Bayscript Blaukomonente MDA. The read-across approach is based on high structural similarity between Bayscript Blaukomponente MDA (source) and Bayscript Blaukomponente TEA (target).
6.1.1 Acute toxicity to fish: No toxic effects against fish (Danio rerio)were observed under exposure conditions at a limit test concentration of 100 mg/L (96 h-LC50 > 100 mg/L).
6.1.3 Acute toxicity to daphnia:No toxic effects against daphnia (Daphnia magna) were observed at a limit test concentration of 100 mg/L (48 h-EC50 > 100 mg/L) under exposure conditions.
6.1.5 Toxicity to algae: The toxicity to algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus) of the active ingredient of the substance was determined on the growth rate and showed an ErC50 of 43 mg/L and an ErC10 of 2.4 mg/L after 72 hours. A NOEC of >= 2.4 mg/L was calculated.
6.1.7 Toxicity to microorganisms:Solvent Yellow 179 showed 0.0 % respiration inhibition of activated sludge at the highest test concentration (860 mg/L) and an EC50 of higher than 860 mg/L was determined. Test concentrations are given as nominal concentrations.
All studies were conducted according to national and/or international guidelines. The toxicity studies are classified as acceptable and satisfy the guideline requirements.
Additional information
In order to comply with the standard information requirements of Annex IX of REACH at this tonnage level for Blaukomponente TEA, the registrant proposes a study according to OECD Guideline 211 (Daphnia magna Reproduction Test) as well as a study according to OECD Guideline 210 (Fish, Early-Life Stage Toxicity Test) as best course of action. The study results from these tests will be adequate for the purpose of classification and labelling and risk assessment. Furthermore, this will elucidate the long-term behavior towards the aquatic compartment.
