Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Test O.1 (Test for oxidizing solids)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
Due to commercial unavailability, cellulose with a fibre length between 50 and 350 µm instead of 50-250 µm and a mean diameter of 12-15 µm instead of 25 µm is used, but not expected to influence the study outcome (same cellulose is used for all mixtures)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.17 (Oxidising Properties (Solids))
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)

Any other information on results incl. tables

Since the burning rate of the test item mixtures was more than 3 min, only the reference mixture at 3:7 (w/w) was tested.

The mean burning time of both test item mixtures was more than the mean burning time of the 3:7 (w/w) reference mixture. According to this, the test item has no oxidizing properties.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The full test was performed to monitor the oxidizing properties of Oxy-Pyrion. Based on the results obtained it was concluded that the test item has no oxidizing properties and is therefore not classified as a Division 5.1 substance.
