Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the test item to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria was investigated in a 96 –hour static test to Scenedesmus subspicatus, according to the OECD Guideline 201 (1984) and the method C.3 of EEC-Directive 92/69 EEC. The test method was modified to quantify the algicidal effect of the test item, but also the growth inhibition effect caused by reduced light intensities in the coloured test solutions. The nominal test concentrations ranged from 0.38 to 120 mg/l in parallel with a control.

The growth inhibition effect on Scenedesmus subspicatus was caused in part by the indirect effect (the light absorption in the coloured test solutions). At the higher test concentrations a real toxic effect of the test item on the growth cannot be excluded.

The ErC50 (72 h) for algicidal effect was found to be 42.6 mg/l.
