Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Short-term toxicity tests are available for all the three tropic levels (fish, invertebrates and aquatic plants). EC50/LC50 >100 mg/L.

Additional information

Short term toxicity tests are available for all the three tropic levels (fish, invertebrates and aquatic plants). In a 96-hours acute fish (Zebrafish: Danio rerio) toxicity test, FAT 40032/D was observed to have 96 h LC50 to be >1000 mg/L. Similarly in a study conducted according to OECD Guideline 202, the 48 h EC50 value of the test substance FAT 40032/G to Daphnia magna was determined to be >100 mg/L. The NOEC value for 48 hours was determined to be 100 mg/L. Due to intrinsic properties of the substance, the test to determine the acute toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria cannot be performed. The dark coloration of the test medium and reduced light intensity in the medium modifying the conditions of test. Hence, to determine the toxicity to the aquatic plant Lemna minor, a semi-static growth inhibition test was performed. In a GLP-compliant OECD Guideline 221 study, Lemna gibba (Duckweed) exposed to the test item FAT 40032/G recorded: 7 day ErC50 based upon the frond number is >100 mg/L. 7 day EyC50 based upon the frond numbers is >100 mg/L. 7 day ErC50 based upon the frond dry weight is >100 mg/L. 7 day EyC50 based upon the frond dry weight is >100 mg/L. The NOEC was 0.64 mg/L and the LOEC was >100 mg /L. Therefore, it can be concluded that there were no toxic effects at saturation concentrations. In a 3h respiration inhibition test, the IC50 (3 h) of the test substance FAT 40032/D was found to be >400 mg/L.
