The test substance 3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-7-(diethylamino)-2-benzopyrone was found to be Slightly soluble in nature

Surface tension:

In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, this testing needs to be carried out only if surface activity is a desired property of the chemical. The chemical 3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-7-(diethylamino)-2-benzopyrone (Common name: Solvent Yellow 185) is used as a Fluorescent color. For this use, surface activity is not a desired property and hence this end point was considered for waiver.

Flash Point:

The flash point determination of 3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-7-(diethylamino)-2-benzopyrone(CAS No. 27425-55-4) was done following closed cup method using Pensky-Martens flash point apparatus. The test was conducted in replicates and mean flash point was found to begreater than 250°C at 970.6 hPa. For the puropse of chemical safety assessment, the flash point was considered to be 251oC.

Autoflammability:

The chemical 3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-7-(diethylamino)-2-benzopyrone (Common name: Solvent Yellow 185) does not catch fire spontaneously upon exposure to air under normal conditions of temperature and pressure. Thus, the chemical is unlikely to be "Auto Flammable". Thus, this end point was considered for waiver.

Flammability:

The NFPA rating for the chemical 3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-7-(diethylamino)-2-benzopyrone (Common name: Solvent Yellow 185) for flammability ranges between 0 to 1, indicating that the chemical is not likely to be flammable under normal conditions of temperature and pressure. Thus, this end point was considered for waiver. The chemical is considered as "Non Flammable" for the purpose of chemical safety assessment.

Explosiveness:

In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, the study is scientifically unjustified since there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule of the chemical 3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-7-(diethylamino)-2-benzopyrone (Common name: Solvent Yellow 185). Thus, the chemical is not likely to be explosive and is considered as "Non Explosive" for the purpose of chemical safety assessment.
