Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Test procedure:
burning time (test type not further specified)
Remarks:
or specified in description of method (migrated information)
Burning time:
ca. 0 s

Minumum ignition energy:

Chloramine-T has been tested at 500 and 1000 g/m3. No ignition was observed at the maximum adjustable spark energy in ten successive trials at each concentration. The MIE of Chloramine-T is therefore >3600 mJ.

Buring rate test:

The test was performed using Chloramine-T "as received" and using the ground and dried product. The behaviour of the products during this test was comparable. During ignition the samples burn. After removal of the ignition source the flame on the burning sample extinguishes immediately. The test was repeated with the same results. Therefore, it is concluded that Chloramine-T is not flammable.

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Executive summary:

According to inhouse AkzoNobel methods the minimum ignition energy and the burining rate of Chloramine-T were determined. The test substance was ground and dried before it was used in the experiments.

Minumum ignition energy:

Tosylchloramide sodium has been tested at 500 and 1000 g/m3. No ignition was observed at the maximum adjustable spark energy in ten successive trials at each concentration. The MIE of Chloramine-T is therefore >3600 mJ.

Therefore, it is concluded that Tosylchloramide sodium is not flammable.

Description of key information

Tosylchloramide sodium, trihydrate has been tested at 500 and 1000 g/m3. No ignition was observed at the maximum adjustable spark energy in ten successive trials at each concentration. The minimum ignition energy of Tosylchloramide sodium, trihydrate is therefore >3600 mJ.
