Description of key information
The 30-min EC50 value for cesium fluoro aluminate complex is >100 mg/L in activated sludge.

No toxicity test with microorganisms is available for cesium tetrafluoroaluminate. The results from the structural analogue cesium fluoro aluminate complex are used instead (for details see Reporting Format as attached to the respective IUCLID entry and CSR Appendix B.2)
A GLP-compliant 30 -min respiration inhibition test was performed according to OECD Guideline 209
In the first and duplicate measurement at 100 mg/L CsAlF-complex very slight inhibition (11 and 14%) in respiration rate of the sludge was recorded. This was on the borderline for significant inhibition. At the additional concentrations tested, 50 and 200 mg CsAlF-complex per litre, no significant inhibition in respiration rate of the sludge was recorded. Thus, the very slight inhibitory effect at 100 mg CsAlF-complex per litre on aerobic waste-water bacteria was not concentration related. Therefore, it is concluded that the 30 -min EC50 value is > 100 mg/L.
