Description of key information
- The known structure does not suggest White liquor to present a danger of oxidation under the conditions described in EC 440/2008 A.21, and classification is not required.
- White liquor is always manufactured as an aqueous solution of alkaline inorganic salts, and none of these salts, in wet or dry form, are classifiable as oxidising according to the C&L rules.
- Data waiving is based on the rules in Column 2 of Annex VII (7.13) in the REACH regualtion stating that no test is required if the substance cannot react exothermically with combustible materials e.g. according to its chemical structure.

Justification for classification or non-classification
White liquor is always manufactured as an aqueous solution of alkaline inorganic salts and none of these salts, in wet or dry form, are classifiable as oxidising according to the C&L rules and classification is not required.
