Other effects:
Administration of the substance to the eye caused slight initial pain in all animals. Slight conjunctival redness and slight or moderate discharge were seen in all animals for 2 or 3 days following administration. Slight conjunctival chemosis was seen in all animals at 1-2 hours and persisted in one for another 2 days. Part of the cornea of each animal was stained orange at 5-6 hours after dosing, persisting for 22 days in the 2 animals studied for this period. In these 2 animals other effects were seen, including lines of pimples along the edge of the nictating membrane in one animal and dried secretion on the eyelids in other.
Harderian discharge was also observed in both animals.
