Sharpio-Wilk's test for normality and Levene's test for homogenity of variance (SAS 2002-2003) were used to determine whether a transformation of the data was required.
EC20 calcualted by fitting Chapman 1998 concentration -response model to data using the NEWTON iterative method of paramter estimation with SAS procedute NLIN. Weighting was performed as per guideline (OECD 215, 2000) - Validity criteria fulfilled:

The effect of the test substance on the growth of the juvenile rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) was determined. In accordance with the guidelines, fish were exposed to the following range of nominal concentrations of 0.78, 1.7, 3.8, 8.3, 18, 40 mg/L. The resultant mean measured concentrations, calculated from the analysed concentrations at 0, 7, 14, 21 and 28, were 1.2, 1.5, 3.4, 8.0, 19, 36 mg/L. Results were compared to a dilution water control.
