Description of key information

Boiling point: 115°C at 1021 hPa for aqueous solution of 70% ammonium thioglycolate in water (EU method A2, ASTM E537 -86).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
115 °C

Additional information

The boiling temperature of aqueous solution of 70% ammonium thioglycolate in water has been deterimed to be 388± 1.0 K (115°C) at 1021 hPa by using EU method A2 (ASTM E537 -86) and OECD method 103. The substance decomposes at 165 to 267°C.

The boiling temperature of ammonium thioglycolate (waterfree salt) was calculated using the program MPBPWIN 1.42: 355.91°C (629.07K) with an uncertainty of 14°C.
