Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

non-explosive

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

- The substance contains one chemical group "azo" which might be associated with explosive properties.

-The experimental determination by DSC on substance was found the exothermic decomposition energy to be about 76 J/g and the onset of exothermic decomposition was about 340°C.

The experimental data by DSC indicated that the test substance does not have a potential for rapid energy release. Thus it can be concluded that the test substance is not considered to be as explosive material.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The explosive properties of test substance were screened based on a set of criteria for C&L as outline in the section R.7.1.11 of Guidance chapter R.7a of REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006

-Step1: The substance contains one chemical group "azo" which might be associated with explosive properties.

-Step2: The experimental determination by DSC on substance showed the exothermic decomposition energy is less than 500 J/g and the onset of exothermic decomposition is below 500°C.

The experimental data by DSC indicated that the test substance does not have a potential for rapid energy release. Thus it can be concluded that the test substance is not considered to be classified as explosive material.
