First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures:
If inhaled: Remove to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
In case of skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
In case of eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
If swallowed: Give small amounts of water to drink. Do NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth, ingest activated charcoal. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If a person vomits when lying on his back, place him in the recovery position. Keep respiratory tract clear. Get medical attention immediately.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Symptoms: irritant effects
Risks: irritant effects
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treatment: The first aid procedure should be established in consultation with the doctor responsible for industrial medicine.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media: Water mist, Foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Dry powder, ABC powder.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: High volume water jet
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Specific hazards during firefighting: No information available.
Advice for firefighters
Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear a positive-pressure supplied-air respirator with full face-piece. Use personal protective equipment.
Further information: Prevent fire extinguishing water from contaminating surface water or the ground water system.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Personal precautions: Use personal protective equipment. Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Environmental precautions
Environmental precautions: Should not be released into the environment. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Avoid subsoil penetration.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Methods for cleaning up: Remove all sources of ignition. Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling
Advice on safe handling: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Avoid dust formation. May form explosive dust-air mixture. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Use only with adequate ventilation.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep container tightly closed. Keep in a well-ventilated place.
Further information on storage conditions: Incompatible with oxidizing agents. Incompatible with strong acids and bases.
Advice on common storage: Never allow product to get in contact with water during storage.
Other data: Stable under recommended storage conditions.
Specific end use(s)
Specific use(s): Polymer additive
