Description of key information

Additional information

Stability:

Studies on abiotic degradation do not need to be conducted as the substance is readily biodegradable.

Biodegradation:

The substance 4'-methylacetophenone is readily biodegradable based on the result of two valid screening studies on ready biodegradability.

Bioaccumulation:

No study available. The log Kow value of 2.1 however indicates clearly a low potential for bioaccumulation of the substance.

Transport and distribution:

The study on adsorption/desorption does not need to be conducted, as based on the low log Kow of 2.1 the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption. The Koc value calculated with a QSAR method is 33.1 (at 20°C). The substance has low potential for adsorption to soil or suspended particles and is classified as highly mobile in soilaccording to the classification scheme of McCall et al. (1981). Adsorption to sludge or sediment to any significant extent is not to be expected.
