Additional information

The substance is only imported and used as aqueous solution. There are no concentration steps in the use pattern of the aqueous solution of the substance. So the chemical safety assessment is based on the effect concentration of Reaction mass of 1,3-benzene disulfonic acid and sulfuric acid, aqueous solution.

Conclusion on classification

In a test under static conditions according to OECD Guideline 202 the 48 – hour EC50 is > 100 mg /L (nominal based on test item), corresponding to >27.7 mg/L (active ingredients) The 48 – hr NOEC based on (mortality/immobilization) is ≥ 100 mg/L (nominal based on test item), corresponding to ≥ 27,7 mg/L (active ingredients). The test item is not toxic angainst Daphnia magna.

In a 72 hour toxicity study according to the OECD Guideline 201, toxicity against Desmodesmus subspicatus ErC50 and EyC50 is > 100 mg/L , corresponding to >27.7 mg/L (active ingredients) as well as ErC10 and EyC10.The 72h NOEC based on growth rate as well as yield is ≥ 100 mg/L, corresponding to ≥27.7 mg/L (active ingredients) . No inhibition of algal growth was observed.

Based on the results, the Reaction mass of 1,3-benzene disulfonic acid and sulfuric acid, aqueous solution does not need to be classified according to CLP Regulation EC 1272/2008: Annex 1: 4.1
