ABIOTIC TRANSFORMATION - HYDROLYIS

The consituents of the registration substance are either aliphatic alcohols or ethoxylates thereof. Aliphatic alcohols have no funtional group which could be hydrolysed. The ether groups of the ethoxylates cannot be readily cleaved under environmental conditions pH 4 -9. As the registration substance is readily biodegradable a rapid degradation in a sewage treatment plant and aquatic compartments can be foreseen and a potential slow hydrolysis would not be revelant for the total degradation rate.
