Endpoint:
flash point of flammable liquids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
Start date: 02/04/2013 Completion date: 30/04/2013
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Study conducted in compliance with agreed protocols, with no or minor deviations from standard test guidelines and/or minor methodological deficiencies, which do not affect the quality of relevant results.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.9 (Flash-Point)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
closed cup
Key result
Flash point:
241 °C
Atm. press.:
>= 101.2 - <= 101.5 kPa

The preliminary test was tested at 5°C intervals. Tests 1, 2 & 3 were tested at 2 °C intervals (in accordance with test standard). The temperature was observed to be erratic above 220°C and the end sample was observed to be discoloured; possibly due to decomposition.

The flashpoint was calculated to be 241°C.

Conclusions:
The flashpoint was calculated to be 241°C.
Executive summary:

The flashpoint was calculated to be 241°C using a closed cup method as a part of EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A9.

Description of key information

The flashpoint was calculated to be 241°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
241 °C

Additional information

The flashpoint was calculated to be 241°C using a closed cup method as a part of EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A9.
