Test solutions

Details on test solutions:
As the test substance hydrochloride, 4, 5, 6, 7-tetrahydrothieno [3,2-c] pyridine code PCR 0665 is soluble in water, a stock solution of 1 g/l is prepared by dissolving the analyte in the test medium. After stirring for 2 hours at 20 °C, the solution was filtered to 0.22 µm to remove any suspended particles. This stock solution is then diluted in the test medium to obtain the appropriate test concentrations.

EC50-24h determined by the method of calculation of PROBITS (confidential limits 95%): 72 mg/l (61-83 mg/l).
Results with reference substance (positive control):
EC50-24h of potassium dichromate is 1.17 mg/l and is therefore in the range recommended by the AFNOR NF-T-90 301 (0.9-1.5 mg/l).
Reported statistics and error estimates:
In the test conditions, the percentage loss of the test substance remained after 48 hours less than 20% for all test concentrations.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
In an acute toxicity test with daphnia the EC50 of the test substance was found 141 mg/l at 48 h and 72 mg/l at 24h. Thus the substance is not considered toxic to Daphnia magma.
